WHO WE ARE
NIFES Uniport North America Alumni (NUNA) is made up of graduates (associates) of NIFES Uniport who live in the United States and Canada. The NUNA group came together with a goal to support the current NIFES Uniport students (the mother fellowship) and to ensure the individual and collective well being of members.
The mission of NUNA is a call to service through volunteering, mentoring and investing in the lives of the upcoming students, with the intention that they will have a successful career and also give back to their communities. The alumni is made up of talented young men and women spanning different generations of graduates from Nifes Uniport, who work together as a team to serve the Nifes organization, the University of Port-Harcourt community and society overall
OUR HISTORY
NUNA – NIFES Uniport North America Alumni is an affiliate of the Nigeria Fellowship of Evangelical student campus fellowship. NIFES was formed on August 31 1968, with a main objective of reaching students through evangelism leadership and discipleship training. Nifes works to mobilize students upon graduation to impact the campus, church and society with godly values. Our Vision/Mission
Our vision is to build a strong network of like-minded people in places all over the world who will be part of a team that provides career development, student
scholarships, academic tutoring, and mentoring services to Nifes students and graduates.
Our Programs
Our programs and projects provide opportunities for our members to engage in various service activities that are enriching and rewarding, both to them and to the recipients. NUNA also promotes productive ways of achieving better task outcomes; we consider time a valuable resource for both students and members. “Therefore we strive to help Nifes students prioritize, set higher career goals and achieve them by (a) developing effective study methods in schools, (b) career guidance to those who need it.
Financial Support
We also provide financial assistance and scholarships to excellent students who may be facing financial challenges, to encourage them in their academic pursuit. Summarily, service is the pillar of the NUNA organization; we believe that those who are blessed can be a blessing to others.”
